Reasons Why People Don't Believe God

I was reading matthew chapter 11 and God shows me this:

People were cynical n skeptical because Jesus challenged their comfortable, secure and self-centered lives. In short, people are unwilling to change. When I was first introduced to Jesus, the thought of going to church every Sunday morning is a waste of time and I will rather sleep on Sunday morning to recharge myself after a hectic week. I was a buddist by birth and basically I don't do anything. No scriptures to read and I dun visit the temple at all. I only know budda teach us to be good, obey the law and be a charitable person. So it's more comfortable being a buddist as I do not need to change anything and be just myself!

Many people always seem to have a lot of things to do and when they focus on this, it keeps coming back to haunt them and this is where you get the famous phrase "I got no time", " I got plenty of things of do!". Ever since I began to focus on God, I get to see a clearer picture and have a better life purpose, i.e to serve God! Amen! By focusing on God, I mean spending time to mediate on the verses in the bible and not just reading. Hear the "voices" of God and obey his instructions and you will be prosperous.

In Jesus's days, although many people saw him and his miracles, many of them still choose to not believe him. In our society today, many of my friends said that if Jesus appear in front of them, they will believe him and repent. But I doubt this will happen because they will always use their own brain and think logically that there must be some scientific prove that God exists.

Statement Of Faith

We Believe:

  • The bible is the inspired, infallible and authoritative Word of God
  • There is one God, existent in 3 persons: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit
  • In the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, in his sinless life, in His miracles, in His vicarious suffering, death and resurrection
  • We are saved by faith in the precious blood of Christ
  • That regeneration by the Holy Spirit is absolutely essential for personal salvation
  • The baptism of the Holy Spirit according to Acts 2:4, is given to believers according to the grace of God
  • The redemptive work of Christ on the cross provides healing for the human body in answer to prayer and faith
  • In the sanctifying power of the Holy Spirit by whose indwelling, the believer is enabled to live a holy life
  • God desires an intimate relationship with man. We exist to love God with all our hearts, minds and souls
  • God blesses and prospers believers within the context of a covenantal relationship and continued obedience to Him
  • The five-fold ministry of apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastoers and teachers exists to prepare God's people for works of service, to build up the body of Christ until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God, attaining the whole measure of the fullness of Christ
  • All Christians are commissioned to make disciples of all nations, to baptise them in the name of the Father, and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and to teach them obedience to God's commands
  • In Christ's second coming to earth in glory, and the rapture of the redeemed in Christ. Christ will judge the living and the dead of the church, and of the world, and the devil, the beast and his false prophets in the resurrection of the saved and the lost, the one to everlasting life and the other to damnation
  • Christ's ultimate triumph over Satan and His eternal rule with God in the new heaven and earth.
